Ladies Winter League – Sunday 10 February

By 11th February 2019No Comments

It looked such a beautiful day today, lots of sun but my goodness it was cold with the wind getting up just as we were starting play. Fifteen players were enticed out into the sunshine, second best turnout this season, so it was a good day to be first or second.
In third place was Audrey with 35 points. Second was Pamela with 34 points, only beaten on count back by Val. Securicor were called to make sure she got home safely with the cash. Mind you when we asked Val how she played, her reply was “the first three holes were fine then the rest was c***” she obviously didn’t see how the rest of us were playing. I believe that neither of the money winners visited a bunker, some of the rest of us made up for that. Well done ladies, great scores on a day where there was very little run and the full course was in play.
My golf was like the Scotland team yesterday, full of mistakes, May and I both struggled with our putters. Elaine was playing really well until the sixth she managed to score a really great five from in amongst the trees.
Not a lot of wildlife today, a brief glimpse of the buzzard by a couple of groups and a lot of bird song but no photos.
Talking of photos I do have one of Maureen that I’ll show you if you ask nicely. Maureen woke up the other day with a bit of hair sticking up at the front and decided to flatten it with a large hair clip, unfortunately she forgot to take it out before she set off to North Berwick, she was giving us a demonstration in the dining room when I took the photo. Never mind Maureen it could have been worse……
