Greens
We will be applying an application of fertiliser to the greens as soon as the correct weather conditions allow . The greens are currently having aeration (solid tinning) work carried out on them . This is essential to aid the flow from all the recent snow and rainfall away from the surface down in to the soil profile . Scarification of the greens will be carried out in the coming weeks as with the fertiliser it’s just a case of being patient and waiting for the correct ground and weather conditions to prevail . The greens are currently been mown at height of 5.5mm as and when required .
Tees
All of the tees are currently being checked and divoted in full . This is in preparation of the mats being removed and the tees being back in play in the coming weeks . The tees will have an application of fertiliser applied shortly after upcoming aeration work is carried out . The tees are currently being cut at a height of 10 mm as and when required .
All other areas
The whole course has been cut in the last couple of weeks . The height of cut of the rough has been significantly reduced . This should make it much easier to find your ball which in turn should help to speed up play .
Trees
A contractor will shortly be removing a mixture of fallen and dead trees from the course . They will also be removing many low lying and broken branches .
Winter work
I hope to have all outstanding winter work completed by mid April . We have undertaken a lot of essential repair work this winter which unfortunately has been hindered recently due to the the extreme weather conditions .
