Recently there have been several rumours circulating about how members will be able to enter competitions this season and the use of the BRS booking system (the booking system introduced last year by The Management Committee for general play). Although Council have agreed several principles, we are still checking with BRS that what we hope to do is feasible and practical.
Since the BRS system was introduced, for general play, there has been better control over times and it is our aim to provide the same for competitions.
The first steps in testing our options was to use it for the Winter Competitions, with a more complicated routine for the Seal Trophy; these competitions allowed us to vary the numbers playing, time variations between tee times, varying when times became live both in the Clubhouse and online.
As a result of this we are reviewing what we have observed (including how times have been booked / cancelled), and listening to comments / concerns from members. If you have any other comments please pass them to the Hon. Secretary by letter or by email(JohnGilmour@royalmusselburghgolfclub.com).
Whatever Council decides is the most suitable way forward, it has to ensure that as many members as possible are given fair access to as wide a choice of times as possible, whilst understanding that there are those who wish to play in established sweeps. This we believe we can achieve.
Council will provide further updates over the next few weeks in order to keep you as informed as possible.
Dave Sinclair,
RMGC Council
